The Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg (Germany), in cooperation with the Metropolis Association and with the support of Robert Bosch Stifung, has the pleasure to present a scholarship program for young filmmakers from Lebanon.

Dedicated to young Arab directors and authors (Lebanese residents) who have completed their education within the last two years (December 31, 2012 the earliest), this program offers the possibility to spend a guest semester (winter semester 2015/2016) at the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg as scholarship students of the Filmakademie, with support from the Robert Bosch Stiftung. Two participants from Lebanon will be selected for this program.

During this time, the students will follow the school’s curriculum and develop material which will be filmed in Lebanon in 2016 and premiere in Germany at the beginning of 2017. For each project, a production grant of 20,000 euro will be allocated for the shooting and post production, which is scheduled to take place between the Filmakademie and Lebanon.

The program is aimed at young graduates who have completed their education at one of the following training institutes in Lebanon: Al Kafaat University (AKU), Université de Balamand – Académie Libanaise des beaux-arts (ALBA), American University of Science and Technology (AUST), American University of Technology (AUT), Institut d’études scéniques audiovisuelles et cinématographiques (IESAV), Lebanese American University (LAU), Lebanese University (LU), Notre Dame University (NDU), Université des Pères Antonins (UPA), Université Saint Esprit de Kaslik (USEK), or any other private institution for higher education having a film studies major and holding a license from the Ministry of Education and Higher Education in Lebanon.
