(TW) Is A Non-Profit Arts Initiative That Encourages Change On Social, Cultural And Environmental Issues With Interventions In The Public Realm And Space.
They are working with Beirut-based landscape architects
on the renovation of the public park in Karantina, Beirut.
Karantina is an industrial area on the suburbs of Beirut. TandemWorks is calling
artists, designers, architects and urban planners – individuals and multidsiciplinary collectives
– to develop conceptual proposals for a playful and interactive installation around the theme of
for Karantina’s park which is witnessing a renovation this Summer (2016).
They are focusing on a community-engaged process where the selected proposal will develop the final object through workshops with the residents of Karantina. Concepts will represent values such as care for the environment, curiosity, inclusiveness and conviviality yielding a reflection on the nature and history of the surrounding, under the open-ended theme of Encounters.
