Under the FSP (Priority Solidarity Fund) for the promotion of Francophonie in Lebanon, the Institut français du Liban and its partners, the Lebanese University (INBA) and the Saint Joseph University (IESAV, Monnot Theatre), launch the Répliques program.

The Répliques program aims to support and encourage the writing of Arab contemporary plays in French and to allow the emergence of a new generation of authors in Lebanon.

The project aims to select and develop contemporary dramaturgical writings over a period of six months.

This Franco-Lebanese project is designed as a support program, made up of writing workshops for playwrights, students, writers – Lebanese or living in Lebanon – led by Lebanese and French professionals. Workspace, area for questioning and research, the program wants to be open, without any imposed thematic but for building up on already constructed works.
To participate, applicants have to submit a detailed presentation of their project before March 1, 2014 composed of:
– A curriculum vitae (one page);
– A statement of intent (one page) on the subject of the piece, its relevance and its development;
– Five or six pages of writing.

The jury of Lebanese and French personalities will announce the results at the end of March.
Successful candidates will benet from writing workshops supervised by Lebanese and French professionals from the eld of theater, notably by Jean-Daniel Magnin – literary director of the Théâtre du Rond-Point in Paris – from April until September 2014. The best plays will be presented at the Institut français du Liban and/or at Monnot Theatre through public readings. The best text will further benet from a production aid granted by the Institut français du Liban.
