START is a non-profit organisation established by Art Dubai and the Al Madad Foundation, running art workshops for refugees, orphans and children with special needs across the Middle East and India.

Our mission is to heal and educate children who have suffered with war, pain and loss.

We run over 50 workshops for over 1,200 underprivileged children every week. We work in refugee camps, orphanages and special needs centers across Jordan, Lebanon, Palestine, India and the UAE. In Lebanon, we run 9-10 workshops every week for Syrian & Palestinian refugee children, nomad, gypsy & street children.

To support, you are welcome to volunteer in our workshops, meet our students and help them learn about different forms of art and help them develop skills in communication and boost their self confidence. START uniquely encourages international artists to become volunteers in the field of humanitarian aid and education by participating in their workshops.

Why and who should participate?
Give back to the community, be inspired, develop your skills and join an elite group of international START artists. START welcomes all artists of different art forms and nationalities that are passionate about children.

How to participate?
• Volunteer in any of our workshops across Jordan, Lebanon, Palestine, India and the UAE.
• We run 10 workshops every week in the orphanages, special needs centers and refugee camps.
• Our START manager will prepare the workshop supplies and support each artist to conceptualise an interactive workshop for the children.
