Dara Nawfal Abdallah is a Syrian writer living in Berlin. In addition to writing for various Arabic publications, Abdallah has published two books, Solitude Spoils her Victims and Multiplying The Few. five years studying medicine at the University of Damascus. He is currently preparing for a BA in cultural and philosophical studies at the Humboldt University of Berlin.
Taking his personal experience of asylum as a point of departure, Abdallah will discuss the fundamental life changes, resulting from everyday trials and tribulations and the great differences between the "two worlds," experienced by an individual arriving to the West from the Levant. Abdallah will also discuss the parallels between Western “underground” culture and daily living conditions in the Levant in general, and Syria in particular.
