OPEN CALL | HOME WORKSPACE PROGRAM IN ITS 16TH EDITION
Ashkal Alwan announces an open call for applicants currently based in Lebanon to participate in the 2027 edition of the Home Workspace Program (HWP), taking place in Beirut from January 11 to July 23, 2027.
Launched in 2011, HWP is a tuition-free annual arts study program that invites fellows to develop their formal, technical and theoretical skills in a critical setting. The program provides fellows with feedback and resources to support their practice, a monthly stipend, and a shared studio space.
The 16th edition of the program will be structured according to the individual and collective needs of selected fellows and their practices. Some of the program's lectures, seminars, and workshops will be open and free of charge to the public.
Deadline: November 20, 2026.
Send your application to hwp@ashkalalwan.org
Eligibility, conditions, and application:
- The program is open to artists aiming to develop their formal, theoretical, and critical skills in dialogue with fellow artists, scholars, writers, and thinkers.
- All artists based in Lebanon are eligible to apply, regardless of age and nationality.
- Applicants should be able to fully commit to HWP’s schedule. External engagements must be kept at a minimum and should not interfere with each fellow’s commitment to the program.
- Up to eight fellows will be selected to take part in HWP 2027; each will receive a monthly stipend and a shared studio space.
- The program will be carried out primarily in English.
